Wild Places, Wild Things! Conservation Lecture Series

Please join us for a conservation lecture on Tuesday, September 26, at 12:00 pm in the Osher Great Hall of the Lurie Education Center. John Newby, CEO of Sahara Conservation Fund, is presenting Sahara Conservation Fund in a Nutshell!  The lecture is free to visitors and recommended for ages 12 and older.

Sahara Conservation Fund (SCF) was born out of the Sahelo-Saharan wildlife conservation movement launched by AZA institutions and others to address the silent crisis of extinction underway in an overlooked and underfunded part of the world. John Newby, CEO of SCF, will share with us the issues, challenges and actions being taken in the Sahara to save some of the rarest species on the planet. Come hear how the San Francisco Zoo and others are joining forces to support SCF in its mission.
