Whether your children are one, 17, or any age in between, the Zoo offers educational programs designed specifically to meet their needs as well as support the mission of the Zoo.

Classes for Young Children
 

Little Learners

18 months - 3½  years old

Year-round

Little Learners is designed for young learners and their caregivers. Each class focuses on a different animal and includes a craft, small snack, an education animal visitor and an experience full of exciting discoveries. Although mostly structured, all activities are optional which makes for a pressure-free introduction to the classroom. No more than 1 adult per child; class themes subject to change.

Fees:
Members $25 per class per child

Non-members $35 per class per child

Receive a 10% discount when you sign up for all weeks in a series!

Fees include a parking pass as well as entrance into the Zoo for you and your child.

Animal Adventures

3 - 4 years old

Year-round

Filled with music, crafts, games, and an education animal visitor, Animal Adventures is designed for 3 and 4-year-olds and their caregivers.  Each class focuses on a specific letter and corresponding animal. Animal Adventures also utilizes other preschool concepts such as colors, patterns and sizes to highlight the animals. No more than 1 adult per child; class themes subject to change.

SF Tots @ SF Zoo

1 ½ - 3 ½ years 

SF Tots joins forces with the SF Zoo! Using a variety of fun games to engage kids in physical activity, SF Tots classes are designed to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and self-confidence. Classes are focused on providing a fun, noncompetitive environment for soccer-based fun and games. Caregiver attendance is mandatory.

Winter Season (Registration Open): December 6 - February 28
Spring Season (Reg. Opens Feb. 23 at 2:00pm): March 7 - May 9
Fall Season: Dates TBD

Young Zoologists

5 - 8 Years Old

Drop-off program

Our Young Zoologists love learning about amazing animal and habitat classifications and what makes each group unique. Activities include crafts, games, Zoo walks, a special Zoo Keeper talk and snack.

Classes for Older Children

Conservation Club

9 to 12 Years Old

If you are 9 to 12 years old and passionate about animals, conservation and helping preserve our natural world, this club is for you. 

Members receive:

- Five club meetings that include a private keeper talk with San Francisco Zoo keepers
- Opportunities to participate in conservation actions both at the Zoo and a home.
- A Membership card
- And a free Zoo gift.
